Global Compact Network Singapore

Global Compact Network Singapore (Global Compact)

As part of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) network, Global Compact Network Singapore (also referred to as Global Compact) encourages and facilitates the progress of companies that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with UNGC’s 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption at the country level.

As the national society promoting CSR in Singapore, Global Compact aims to encourage collaboration between CSR stakeholders in businesses, government and civil society to create long-lasting value for the community. Through various platforms for multi-stakeholder engagement and collective action, the national society aims to advance responsible business practices and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), supporting Singapore’s goal of becoming a sustainable nation.

Global Compact has been raising the level of awareness and adoption of CSR amongst businesses since its inception in 2005, and has also expanded its mission to include nurturing the next generation of CSR leaders through its youth initiatives. It is also a stakeholder of the Global Reporting Initiative and a participating organisation of the ASEAN CSR Networks.

It also organises the Global Compact International CSR Summit, Global Compact CSR APEX Awards and the CDL-Global Compact Young CSR Leaders Award.

Our vision is to build a more sustainable, inclusive and better world, through high-impact, sustainable and cross-sector solutions to social needs.

Profiled in numerous media, our Pop and Talent Hub (PaTH) program has provided self-employment opportunities for more than 100 local social entrepreneurs from marginalized communities. SIP’s partnership with NETS has also put into circulation more than 550,000 NETS Cashcards printed with artwork by marginalized artists. We have also inspired and incubated many local social enterprises such as O’School, Eighteen Chefs and Teddy Thotz ‘n’ One Kind to name a few.

SIP has organised numerous large-scale events which have attracted dignitaries, business leaders, and social innovators from across the world. Our signature event, the annual Global Social Innovators Forum (GSIF), and our Giants in Conversation (GIC) event, are some examples. Through its many initiatives, SIP has inspired thousands across the world and won the meritorious Most Prestigious Brand Award (Singapore) in 2009. This makes us the youngest ever organization to receive such an award.
